An indigenous Tanchangya woman kidnapped by a group of miscreants in Naikhyongchari

On 5 April 2014 around 6:00 pm an indigenous Tanachangya woman was kidnapped alleged by a group of 5-6 Bengali settlers led by Dr. Hamja, Reju Garjanbonia Head Teacher of a non-government primary school and Dr. Muktar, Reju Fattrajhiri at Reju Fattrajhiri village of Naikhyongchari upazila in Bandarban district.

It is learnt that, the gang of miscreants kidnapped her when they found her alone at home in evening time.  Few days ago, the woman worked as an agent of Tofael Ahmed, an independent candidate of the Upazila Election on 23 March while Dr. Hamja and Dr. Muktar were supporters of Awami League candidate Md. Shofiullah in the same election.  The victim and the miscreants had an argument about their candidates in voting spot.  The villagers are suspecting the victim was kidnapped for that reason. It is mentionable that the woman was rescued with the help of Ukhiya police station although police could not arrest any culprits in this connection.
