  1. Introduction

Kapaeeng Foundation (KF) is a human rights orgnasation of indigenous peoples in Bangladesh. It was established on 1 April 2004 for the purpose of promotion and protection of the rights of indigenous peoples of the country. Since its inception KF has been working on different issues and challenges faced by indigenous peoples both from plain land and the CHT. On national and local level, KF organizes seminars, workshops and consultation programs to discuss current issues and problems of indigenous peoples and raises awareness on their rights with indigenous peoples and concerned government authorities. It also conducts lobby, campaign and advocacy in national and international level for the rights of indigenous peoples.

KFhas been working in partnership with many national organization, including ILO, Oxfam-GB, ActionAid Bangladesh,ManusherJonno Foundation etc. to promote indigenous rights in the country.

KF is looking for a young indigenous applicants for the positions of project officer to implement activities of the organization. Interested applicants match with the job requirements are requested to apply.

 

  1. Guidance and supervision

The project officer will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Executive Director

  1. Job requirements
  • Must be a member of indigenous community and competent in at least one indigenous language
  • Have at least a bachelor degree in a related field, and preferably working experience of minimum one year in facilitation of activities/project from any human rights/development organization. (This condition can be relaxed for exceptional candidates)
  • Possess in-depth knowledge on indigenous issues
  • Have demonstrated skills in organizing events e.g. workshop, training and seminar
  • Have working knowledge on developing materials for periodic publication
  • Have strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and general Internet and electronic communications.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bengali.

  1. Description of the duties:
  • Conduct day to day program based office works of the secretariat
  • Develop work plan according to the project proposal
  • Produce six monthly progress activity and financial report
  • Organize and  facilitate  seminar, workshop and training of KF and Support in developing tools, guidelines, background material, working papers and tables for the project events
  • Responsible to the organization for any project relevant activities including conduct onsite inquiry, monitoring & accomplish official management activities
  • Conduct and arrange network meetings, data gathering and report writing
  • Participate in the project implementation and perform other relevant duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
  • Represent in any relevant event/program on behalf of the organization and accomplishing other official activities
  • Project Officer will be responsible for coordinating women programme including BIWN at the secretariat.
